Official sales start on September 21st. Barely a week after the keynote, Apple distributed the first test devices to selected press representatives worldwide. The first test results are now available. Jeff Williams has presented the next generation of the popular computer watch, which has a lot to offer. Despite the larger display, the straps of the previous models are compatible.

In addition to the larger display, the resolution has also been improved. This is now 384 x 480 pixels. The 4th generation models come with 40mm and 44mm display diagonals. The watch itself has retained its size, so all previous straps are still compatible. The larger screen was made possible by new display technology. The Apple Watch Series 4 is also thinner than its predecessor.
New watch faces with up to eight complications are also included. In general, testers find the large display very advantageous. At the same time, however, some people are in danger of being distracted more quickly. The design still convinces everyone - and the Gold Edition is not entirely uninvolved here either.
performance
The S4 chip, which is supposed to offer technological progress, should not be underestimated either. The difference in speed is most noticeable when using Siri. The 64-bit dual-core processor makes everything noticeably faster. The 4th generation of the Apple Watch is currently receiving mostly praise. More detailed tests are expected in the next few days. The new Apple Watch Series 4 models can be officially pre-ordered. Delivery will take place from September 21st. The 40mm starts at 429 euros and the 44mm starts at 459 euros. The starting price for an LTE version is 530 euros.
