A picture is slowly emerging of how and when Apple will introduce new products that have already been leaked in advance. After new iPad and iMac models, new second-generation AirPods and the promised charging case that allows wireless charging are now following.
Apple just introduced the second generation of its popular AirPods. The new earbuds come with the long-awaited wireless charging case, a new H1 chip, longer battery life, and faster device connections. They also support the "Hey Siri" command, or you can double-tap Apple's assistant.
The new AirPods are now available for 229 euros with a wireless charging case. Alternatively, the plugs can also be purchased with the first generation charging case for 179 euros. AirPods 1 users can get the wireless charging case separately for 89 euros.
Hey Siri
According to Apple, the new AirPods offer 50 percent more talk time – thanks to the new H1 chip. Device switching is also now faster. The new AirPods also feature the "Hey Siri" feature for the first time, allowing wearers to trigger Siri commands using just their voice – as mentioned above, there's no need to double-tap. The wireless charging case works with all standard Qi chargers.
