The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) is an independent authority in the United States. The FCC is responsible for various radio services and is the approval authority for communications equipment. It also tests products for compatibility with its own and other standards (e.g. from ISA, ISO or ITU).

It has now been announced that Apple received FCC approval for an unreleased MacBook Pro with the model number A2159 yesterday. The model number is not unknown - it was only recently submitted to the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) registered. In the FCC documentation, Apple states that the unreleased A2159 device is a MacBook Pro. Due to the fact that Apple already May The discovery is obviously strange, as Apple has released two new Pro models. However, the A2159 device could be an update to the 13-inch MacBook Pro without the Touch Bar.

Six more models are missing

Apple is also said to be developing a completely new MacBook Pro, which has a new design and a larger display - rumors suggest that the new notebook will have a whopping 16-inch screen diagonal. FCC approvals are usually published shortly before a new product is launched. So we will probably see the still unknown MacBook Pro very soon. At the moment only one entry is visible in the FCC list - but based on the EEC database we know of seven models. Consequently, the six missing MacBook models are likely to be released at a later date. Amazon Echo Dot (3rd Gen.) for 19.99 euros – only for a short time (Photo by Unsplash)
