During the “It’s show time” keynote in March, Apple introduced new services and its own credit card – Apple Card.
The new payment method is called Apple Card and is being developed in collaboration with Goldman Sachs. Cupertino wants to bring a particularly secure credit card to the market with Apple Card. The promise: Apple has no insight into the purchases made by users. In addition, the credit card number itself is not transmitted - when a purchase is started, a unique code is transmitted. This is generated anew with each purchase. How the credit card from Cupertino works
The simplicity of the Apple Card
Now Goldman Sachs CEO David Solomon has spoken out again. He confirmed at a conference that the new Apple Card is in a test phase. It is currently being tested by Apple employees and Goldman Sachs employees. The test phase of the new credit card has already begun with the first beta version. iOS 12.4 leaked - there has been no official confirmation to date. Solomon explained that he is currently one of the Apple Card beta testers and that he really likes the simplicity and the way the entire payment process works.
“It's in beta right now; “There are some employees at Goldman Sachs and some employees of Apple that are using the card,” Solomon said. “I'm using the card, I like the way it works. I like the simplicity, the lack of friction when it comes to paying bills, looking at what you've spent, ease of use.”
Solomon emphasized that employees of both companies are also convinced of the Apple Card - the feedback so far has been only positive. The physical card made of titanium is due to be available in the summer. It does not contain any traditional information like other cards. Apple wants to use its own credit card to ensure the confidentiality of customer data. Apple Card will initially only be available in the USA. When it will be introduced here remains unknown until further notice. (Image: Apple)
