Anapa, Russia - July 22, 2019: Woman hand holding iPhone X with home screen IOS 13. iPhone was created and developed by the Apple inc.

At the beginning of the year, TV manufacturer LG promised that it would also be able to support TVs from 2018 with AirPlay 2 & HomeKit by the end of 2020. The update is now being officially rolled out.

AirPlay 2 allows users to stream videos, music, podcasts and more directly from an iPhone, iPad or Mac to a compatible LG Smart TV without the need for an Apple TV. With HomeKit, users can turn the TV on or off, control the volume and much more via the Home app or Siri. These features are also available on select smart TVs from Samsung, Sony and Vizio. Now LG is said to have started to develop the corresponding update (Version 05.30.02) to be rolled out.

LG has since caused anger among users

According to the company, it will be made available for selected 2018 models. Specifically, this should include the LCD models with “SK” or “UK” in the name and all OLED models with “B8” to “Z8” in the name. The prerequisite for this is that the company sticks to its previous statements. An official statement on this is still pending. The update was originally announced at the beginning of the year and was canceled in the meantime. This resulted in a number of complaints from the community, after which the company backtracked and released the update again. confirmed If there is further news on this, we will update the article.
