There is a lot of news in the Apple world. However, there are even more rumors circulating about new products from Apple. Of course, sometimes leaks come to light. Here is a short summary of what we can expect this autumn. (Updates still possible)
Apple Pay
With Apple Pay, iPhones and Apple Watches can replace debit or credit cards. Simply holding the device up to the terminal initiates the payment process. On July 31, Tim Cook announced the end of the wait with the words "Apple Pay is launching in Germany later this year". The community was over the moon - Apple Pay will be launched in Germany this year.
iPad Pro
It was already suspected that an iPad Pro 12.9" with Face ID would be released, and Kuo confirmed this. But now he also believes that there will be another iPad, namely an 11" model. Both models will have no home button. The iPad was recently leaked in an iOS 12 beta.
Face ID without a notch
The files found in the battery usage section show the device with a nearly bezel-less design and, as expected, without a home button.
Like the iPhone X, it will have a TrueDepth camera and will therefore use FaceID. The lack of a notch is interesting - Apple seems to have integrated the camera directly into the edge. The icon called HLSipad2 is the successor to the HLSipad icon - the home screen appears to remain the same.
No headphone jack
The 3.5 mm headphone jack is also said to be history. The Smart Connector is said to be moved down to the Lightning port, which on the one hand points to new Smart Keyboards and on the other hand is also an indication that Face ID can only be used vertically. Macotakara also wants to know the dimensions. According to this, the 12.9" model is said to measure 280 mm x 215 mm x 6.4 mm and the 10.5" model is said to be 247.5 mm x 178.7 mm x 6 mm.
Rounded screen corners
The iPhone X showed the way – now the iPad Pro is to follow. Apple's iOS beta once again gave us a deep insight. Another clue was found that provides information about the shape of the display corners. According to this, the upcoming iPad Pro will have rounded screen corners – similar to the iPhone X before it. If the iPad is started in the iOS simulator, it can be seen that iOS 12 can also run with rounded corners.
iPhone
The iPhone X will continue with a 5.8" display and will also have a big brother with a full 6.5" display - the Plus version. Both will have an OLED display. Another iPhone with a 6.1" LCD will also be part of the line-up. However, Foxconn employees are said to have recently mentioned four model numbers: 801, 802, 803 and 804. The first two numbers stand for the OLED models. 803 and 804 refer to the expected LCD iPhone with a display diagonal of 6.1", one for sale worldwide and the other only for the Chinese market. The difference is the dual-SIM capability.
Lightning to jack adapter
Apple will apparently no longer include the small lightning-to-jack adapter with the new iPhones. At least that is what Cowen analyst Matthew D. Ramsay claims. He analyzed the quarterly report from Apple's supplier Cirrus Logic and came to this conclusion. The company produces audio chips for the iGroup, which are also used in the adapter in question. But that no longer seems to be the case. It is also conceivable that Apple has simply changed suppliers or has now taken over the production of this chip itself.
availability
Due to problems with the backlight, the LCD iPhone will not be available until October, wrote the well-informed analyst Katy Huberty, from the bank Morgan Stanley, in her latest report to investors.
Colors
Apple expert Ming-Chi Kuo wrote a few weeks ago that Apple will make its iPhones more colorful this year. In a more recent report, the Japanese blog Macotakara supports his statement. Specifically, the colors will be white, black, electric blue, flash yellow, bright orange and taupe.
power supply
The previous 5-watt charger is to be replaced by an 18-watt USB-C power adapter. (Lightning to USB-C) The faster adapter will initially only be available in combination with the new iPhones. This means that if you buy a model from the new iPhone series, the power adapter will be included. Separate availability is only planned at a later date. The power adapter will also support the USB-C authentication standard - C-Auth for short - which was developed as part of the USB Power Delivery Revision 3.0. This allows the device to recognize whether it is connected to a certified cable or not.
Apple Watch
The 4th generation is set to come with larger displays. A topic that has already been the subject of much speculation. But Kuo gave concrete figures for the first time. The models are set to hit the market with 1.57" and 1.78". This small increase in size is likely to be made possible by a narrower display edge. The heart rate monitor will also be improved.
AirPods 2
The AirPods 2 are set to have more features and be more expensive. These include better noise compensation and moisture protection. The wireless range is also set to be improved. It is also possible to integrate biometric sensors. This is what Bloomberg reports, citing informed sources. A launch could be possible this year - but there are voices predicting spring 2019.
MacBook Air
A successor is expected here too – whether it will keep its name is unclear, but an update of the device is certain.
AirPower
The price of AirPower was last estimated at 150 $. Overall, the development of the Qi charging mat has been delayed by a good year. Apple may bring the good piece to market this year.
At least one Apple keynote is expected – as usual in September. Whether Apple will hold another in October is not certain but very likely.
