Apple announced on Thursday that Golden Master Version rolled out by macOS 10.15 Catalina – now registered developers can access Apple Arcade.

The new Mac operating system macOS Catalina should soon be available to all Mac users. Currently, the finished version (Golden Master) can only be downloaded by registered developers. As has now been announced, these developers now have full access to Apple Arcade. The new service offers a large selection of games without advertising or in-app purchases. To gain access, all you need is a subscription, which costs around 5 euros a month - family sharing and a free trial month are included. The games can be played on iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple TV (requires iOS 13, iPadOS & tvOS 13) - the game status is synchronized with the devices via iCloud. According to Apple, more titles will be added to the games catalog every month.

Release of macOS Catalina expected next week

The release of the new gaming service is likely to be seen as a further indication of an imminent release of macOS Catalina. Originally, a Find on Apple's website October 4th could be interpreted as the launch of macOS Catalina – but the new operating system has not yet been released.

It is currently expected that Apple will release macOS 10.15 Catalina next week. In macOS Catalina, iTunes will be replaced by new apps. Users will get their own music, TV and podcast application. The Mac will also get a brand new Reminders app and many other useful features. (Photo by Konstantin Savusia / Bigstockphoto)

Apple devices here aren't test units for a fortnight but everyday tools: from the iPhone to the MacBook Pro, MacBook Air and iMac through to the Apple Vision Pro, at least one device from nearly every product category is in daily use, many of them replaced annually. Every menu path in a guide is verified on the device before it goes live.
