Apple released a new firmware update for the AirPods 2 and AirPods Pro this evening.
Apple has surprisingly updated the AirPods 2 and AirPods Pro. The exact changes are not known, however. When an update is rolled out for the popular earbuds, it usually contains bug fixes and performance improvements. The latest firmware version for both models is 2C54. (Previous versions: AirPods 2 - 2A364 / AirPods Pro - 2B588)
The update is automatic
AirPods usually update automatically once they're connected to a device and in use—there's no way to force the update. However, you can check the firmware version at any time. To do so, connect your AirPods to your iPhone or iPad and then open iOS Settings. Navigate to "General" and tap "About." Then select your AirPods further down. You can now view information such as the model number, serial number, and firmware version. Don't have AirPods yet? Apfelpatient Amazon Shop. (Photo by Milkos / Bigstockphoto)
