The iPhone 11 is the new entry-level iPhone and thus the successor to the iPhone XR – now further details about the front camera have become known.

The iPhone 11 still has a 6.1-inch LCD display and includes True Tone technology. The biggest innovation is the camera. As numerous leaks and rumors have shown, the iPhone 11 will be released with a dual camera - packed in an admittedly somewhat strange square, but we were already prepared for it, right?! According to Apple, the iPhone 11 camera includes wide-angle and ultra-wide-angle lenses and not, as many assumed, a wide-angle and telephoto lens. A new night mode was also integrated as part of the update. This is automatically activated to adjust the photos accordingly. The iPhone 11 also offers the next generation of Smart HDR. One of the new features is called QuickTake. The function allows the user to start a new video recording by simply holding down the shutter button for a longer period of time. The front camera was not left untouched either. It now has 12 megapixels with wide-angle selfie support in landscape format. Videos can be recorded in 4k at 60 fps - a slow motion function is also available. As has now become known, the portrait mode not only recognizes people – pets and objects are also included – Apple has now announced this.

Prices, features and availability

The iPhone 11 is thus given a function that is already known from the iPhone X, iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max. In addition to animal recognition, the iPhone 11 also has six different portrait lighting effects - Natural, Studio, Contour, Stage, Stage Mono and High-Key Mono. The new iPhone 11 is available in six colors - black, white, red, purple, green and yellow. The anodized aluminum surface ensures greater durability, according to Apple.

The new entry-level iPhone is powered by an A13 chip  – the battery lasts up to an hour longer than its predecessor, the iPhone XR. The device starts with a base price of 799 euros and can cost up to 969 euros depending on the size. It is available with 64 GB, 128 GB and 256 GB and can be pre-ordered from September 13th. Delivery starts on September 20th. (Image: Apple)
