The topic of Apple Pay and Volksbanken and Raiffeisenbanken is causing a lot of discontent among some users. While financial institutions such as Deutsche Bank have been involved since the start, others are hesitant. But now things seem to be moving forward.
The introduction of Apple Pay at Volksbanken and Raiffeisenbanken was already confirmed by the relevant authority in June of this year. At that time, it was only announced that the banks would introduce Apple Pay support this year - an exact start date was not given. But now things are moving. As our colleagues from iPhone-Ticker.de According to reports, some Volksbank customers have apparently seen an Apple Pay advertisement on their bank statements. It contains the slogan "Apple Pay is coming in 2019." Some customers are also being advised to prepare for the launch. This should be possible via the VR banking app. Interested parties should activate the "Notifications" function so that they can register their Mastercard or Visa credit card for the service in the app as soon as possible when Apple Pay launches. No specific date was specified for this advertising campaign.
Sparkasse and Commerzbank
In addition to the Volksbanken and Raiffeisenbanken, Sparkasse also wants to introduce Apple Pay this year. However, the launch is still being kept secret. While Commerzbank is already actively promoting Apple Pay, Sparkasse is holding back a little more. The last official statement was made at the end of June – read more here.
