Samsung Galaxy Fold – the problems have allegedly been fixed

by Milan
July 3, 2019

According to a new report from the news channel Bloomberg, a lot has happened at Samsung - the problem device Galaxy Fold is now supposed to work flawlessly.

In February, Samsung unveiled the folding smartphone Samsung Galaxy Fold – a world first, expected to cost a whopping $2,000. The device features a 4.6" external display – but when opened, users are treated to a 7.3" OLED screen. Inside lies an eight-core processor, a whopping 12 GB of RAM, and 512 GB of storage – a high-end smartphone if it weren't for the display issue. According to a Bloomberg report, the smartphone manufacturer is now in the "final stages" of producing a market-ready version of the foldable Samsung Galaxy Fold. However, the news outlet was unable to ascertain a launch date. The South Korean company originally planned to launch its $1,980 foldable smartphone on April 26th.

A performance in August possible

Various display problems forced the company to withdraw. All of the problems were directly related to the foldable display - the first test devices failed in droves. According to insiders, all of the errors have now been fixed and the device has been made suitable for everyday use. A special protective film is supposed to protect the entire display from the ingress of dirt particles - and this cannot be removed manually, according to insiders. It is currently unknown when Samsung plans to finally present the revised device and put it on sale. This could be on August 7th. An event is planned for that day in New York. It remains to be seen whether the design revision has been successful. Amazon Echo Dot (3rd Gen.) for 19.99 euros – only for a short time (Image: Samsung)
