During the iPhone 13 presentation, Apple introduced a new version of the MagSafe Wallet series with "Find My" integration. Now users are reporting problems.
A rather long Reddit thread according to Affected users are not receiving the correct "Find My" pop-up when attaching a MagSafe Wallet to an iPhone. The issue appears to be affecting iPhone 13 models in particular. However, there have also been some complaints from iPhone 12 owners. The MagSafe Wallet is supposed to automatically connect to Find My when attached to an iPhone 12 or 13 model. After those affected contacted Apple's support team, they were instructed to reset their network settings. Some were successful, while others continued to experience the issue. One user explains:
iPhone 13 & new MagSafe Wallet: Two possible solutions
I spoke to customer support three times, and we managed to get my iPhone 13 Pro Max working. Here's how it worked: They told me to go to Settings -> General -> Transfer or Reset -> Erase -> Erase Network Settings. The phone rebooted, and after rebooting and attaching the MagSafe Wallet to the back of the phone, the animation appeared, and the wallet was successfully added to the "Find My" app.
Some users have confirmed that this solution was successful. However, there are some reports that claim the opposite. Some have even gone as far as putting their iPhone into DFU mode - a drastic measure that did help. So anyone affected will probably have to take one of these two solutions or wait for a software update. Since many different problems with iOS 15 and the iPhone 13 are currently being documented, it is safe to assume that Apple will provide at least one patch. When this might be released is currently unknown. (Photo by Unsplash / Martin Sanchez)
