Apple today released a new COVID-19-related application and website via press release.

The “Apple COVID-19” application was developed in collaboration with FEMA and the CDC and is intended to educate US residents about the novel coronavirus. press release:

Apple today released a new screening tool and a set of resources to help people stay informed and take the right steps to protect their health as COVID-19 spreads — based on the latest CDC guidelines. The new COVID-19 website and COVID-19 app, available on the App Store, were created in partnership with the CDC, the White House Coronavirus Task Force, and FEMA to make it easier for people across the country to get trusted information and guidance at a time when the United States is feeling the heavy burden of COVID-19.

Accordingly, the tool in the form of a website and app is only available to US Americans. It is currently unknown whether Apple is planning a similar offer for other countries. The company explains the possibilities of the new offer as follows:

The COVID-19 app and website allow users to answer a series of questions about risk factors, current exposure, and symptoms for themselves or a loved one. In return, they will receive the CDC's recommendations on next steps, including guidance on social distancing and self-isolation, how to closely monitor symptoms, whether or not testing is recommended at this time, and when to contact a medical provider. This new screening tool is intended as a resource for individuals and is not a substitute for instructions from healthcare providers or guidance from state and local health authorities.

While the app is only available in the US App Store, the website is open to anyone. However, it's only available in English. (Image: Apple)
