The employees at the online store Target seem to be very talkative at the moment. After the new Apple headphones dubbed "AirPods X Generation" were unveiled via Twitter, there's now a follow-up.
The US blog 9to5mac has received images from Target employees showing new entries in its warehouse system. These are said to be so-called placeholders for upcoming product releases. In addition to the aforementioned "Apple AirPods X Generation” entry, placeholders for “Apple iPod touch X Generation”, “Apple TV X Gen” and “Apple Watch Series X Band” have now been revealed. While five entries are reserved for the supposed “Apple iPod touch X Generation”, four slots appear to belong to the supposed “Apple TV X Gen”. Three further entries can be traced back to “Apple Watch Series X Band” – these are said to be new wristbands, as the name suggests. The prices are based on current product generations – it is doubtful whether these will ultimately be valid. The new “Apple TV X Gen” was listed at the same price as the current Apple TV 4K with 32 GB, while the “iPod touch X Generation” model is listed at 399 US dollars – the retail price of the iPod touch 7 with 256 GB. The “X”, on the other hand, is clearly a placeholder, since the correct brand name will remain unknown until release.
Apple Keynote: Are we about to see a small product fireworks display?
But what could be behind these entries? Observers currently assume that these are not fake. The entries also match previous rumors. Regarding a new Apple TV model, the confirmation could be in the code of the first tvOS 13.4 Beta Because it actually contains an unknown Apple TV model. Given the fact that the Apple TV was last updated in 2017, an update would certainly be appropriate - also with a view to Apple Arcade. There have also been rumors about new headphones for a long time, but an iPod touch 8 has not been part of the rumors so far - but that doesn't mean anything. The discovery also seems plausible in relation to the Apple Watch straps. So far, Apple has always refreshed its own range in the spring. Of course, no one can say for sure whether the entries are actually real. Overall, the launch of the iPhone 9 (also known as iPhone SE 2) and a new iPad Pro generation are expected. It remains to be seen whether Apple will also present the above-mentioned products during a keynote. In any case, the signs are good. (Image: Apple)
