In June, Apple introduced the groundbreaking Adaptive Audio feature for AirPods Pro 2, which combines adaptive transparency with active noise cancellation. This feature intelligently adapts to changing environments and interactions throughout the day. Together with Conversation Awareness and Personalized Volume features, Adaptive Audio offers an impressive listening experience. In this article, we'll show you how to install the beta version of AirPods Pro and try out these exciting new features.

The AirPods Pro beta offers the ability to test Adaptive Audio, but it is important to note that this beta is only available for the AirPods Pro 2 (available at a discount on Amazon) and is installed at your own risk as it is a developer beta. Follow the steps carefully to enable this feature and discover the full potential of your AirPods Pro 2.

Installing the AirPods Pro Beta

requirements

  • Before you start the installation, make sure you have the iOS 17 developer beta installed on your iPhone. Also check if you can enable developer mode.

Apple Developer Website

  • Visit the Apple Developer website on your Mac and sign up for free with your Apple ID.

software downloads

  • Go to Program Resources and select "Software Downloads". Then click on "Applications" and under Xcode 15 beta click on "View Downloads".

Download Xcode 15 beta

  • Click on "Show details" and uncheck iOS 17. Then download Xcode 15 beta and selected platforms and open the Xcode_15_beta.xip file.

Connect your iPhone

  • Connect your iPhone with iOS 17 to your Mac and open Xcode 15 beta.

Enable developer mode

  • Open Settings on your iPhone and select Privacy & Security. Turn on Developer Mode and follow the instructions to restart your iPhone.

Activate the AirPods Beta

  • Go to Settings > Developer > AirPods Testing > Pre-Release Beta Firmware. Enable the beta for your AirPods Pro 2.

firmware updates

  • Apple automatically installs firmware updates when your AirPods are in the charging case and near your iPhone.

Check the installation

  • The beta update will install automatically. You can check if it was successful by going to Bluetooth settings and selecting your AirPods Pro 2. The beta is successfully installed when the firmware version 5E135 has been updated to build 6A238h or 6A262d.

Conclusion

The beta version of the AirPods Pro allows users to test the innovative Adaptive Audio feature. With a simple installation and a few steps, you can experience the new features, including Adaptive Transparency, Active Noise Cancellation, Conversation Awareness and Personalized Volume. Make sure you follow the instructions carefully to successfully install the beta version and unleash the full potential of your AirPods Pro 2. Enjoy the impressive listening experience with Adaptive Audio and experience the smooth transition between different modes that accompanies you as if by magic. Please remember that this is a developer beta. This means that errors are not excluded. Have fun trying out the new features! (Image: Apple)
