Nomad recently introduced its latest official MagSafe charger for iPhone: Stand One. Like the Base One, the Stand One is made from high-quality metal and glass and feels like a sculpture powering the iPhone. Below we take a look at the new luxury MagSafe charging station.

Like the Base One, the Stand One is characterized by an exceptional design and high-quality materials and workmanship. The frame of the charger consists of a solid metal block with a shapely glass cover that has been CNC-milled for precise construction.

To protect the iPhone, the official MagSafe charging magnet is covered in a particularly soft material. Weighing in at 613 grams, the Stand One offers a pleasant weight that reminds you of the quality of the construction every time you touch it. But that also means it stays where you put it. The stand is made of a rubberized base that, together with the weight of the Stand One, ensures a secure stand. And like the company's other products, the integrated USB-C cable is made of a robust, braided nylon sheath.

Technical data at a glance

  • Official MFi MagSafe Fast Charger up to 15W for iPhone
  • Upright design made of solid metal and glass with a viewing angle of 21 degrees
  • Integrated 2 meter long braided USB-C cable
  • Operation with 20W USB-C power adapter (must be purchased separately)
  • Colors: Silver/White or Carbide (almost black)
  • Weight: 613 grams
  • Price: $109.95

I opted for the silver version of the Stand One this time and found that it offers the same high-quality experience that Nomad offers with the Base One and Base One Max. Like its relatives, the Stand One stands out from almost every other iPhone charger on the market, with official MagSafe, full metal and glass design, and clever touches like the MagSafe puck that sits above the glass so that the curvature of the iPhone camera isn't a problem for a flush connection to the charger.

Because the front panel is glass, fingerprints can be left on the charging station, but since it's a desk accessory, most people won't be touching it regularly. Weighing over a pound, it's sturdy and stable, and the bottom is made of silicone to keep it from sliding. Nomad says the weight ensures it stays on the table without sliding. In fact, you still have to do the little twisting and pulling motion when you take the iPhone off the charger—something you have to do with any MagSafe charger. The weight is fine and feels more premium. While the charging station is primarily for the iPhone, it can also charge the MagSafe-enabled AirPods Pro 2. Standard AirPods or non-MagSafe-enabled phones can't be charged, as the upright design requires a magnetic connection. Only one product can be charged at a time, incidentally.

Nomad Stand One hands-on: conclusion

Overall, the Stand One continues Nomad's tradition of offering a premium experience, both aesthetically and functionally, with official MagSafe. Although the high price means this isn't a charger for everyone, the Stand One is the perfect choice for those looking for an upright MagSafe charger with a solid and beautiful design. So if you want to purchase the product, you can do so from Nomad's official online store for the price of 109.95 US dollars make. (Image: Nomad)
