Apple is preparing to potentially replace its “Pro Max” iPhone with an all-new “Ultra” model of the iPhone 15 next year, according to a new report.
In his current “Power On” newsletter writes Mark Gurman reports that Apple is planning a redesigned design, USB-C, and a possible name change for the iPhone 15. According to Gurman, Apple could replace its "Pro Max" branding, which it has used since the iPhone 11, with "Ultra."
Based on Apple's current pattern, we can expect a revised iPhone design next year, accompanied by a switch to USB-C and a possible new Ultra model to replace the Pro Max.
iPhone 15 Ultra could replace the “Pro Max” model
Switching to the "Ultra" designation for the most premium iPhone would follow in the footsteps of recent naming decisions Apple has made. For example, the most durable Apple Watch yet is called the Apple Watch Ultra, while the most powerful Apple Silicon chip to date is called the M1 Ultra. Concrete details on the iPhone 15 are scarce, as it's still a year away. However, it's widely expected that Apple will switch to USB-C for next year's iPhones. It's also speculated that the hole-punch and pill-shaped notches introduced with the iPhone 14 Pro will be carried over to all models in the iPhone 15 lineup. (Photo by Unsplash / James Yarema)
