Apple has so far avoided the foldable technology market. But according to a new report, the Cupertino tech giant could introduce a foldable iPad in the next few years.

What users gain in novelty, they'll likely lose in practicality. Current foldable phones are clunky and heavy, which hardly fits Apple's design ethos.
Patents confirm Apple's foldable ideas
Apple has not yet announced any plans for a foldable device. In September, it was reported that Apple wants to commission LG and Samsung to produce foldable OLED panels. The goal would be a device that can be folded without the visible crease that many current folding devices develop. Whether Apple actually wants to gain a foothold in the "foldable tech market" at some point remains to be seen, of course.
