October 5, 2022, Moscow, Russia. The new Apple iPhone 14 Pro smartphone on the store window.

The iPhone 15 Pro Max is one of the most anticipated smartphones of the year. It is expected to have some impressive improvements compared to its predecessors. One of the most interesting rumors is that it could have a 5x to 6x optical zoom. Below we will look at this rumor and the periscope technology that makes it possible.

A periscope lens is an advanced technology that allows smartphones to have a stronger optical zoom without increasing the size of the device. Although other brands such as Samsung, Google and Huawei already use this technology, Apple has not yet started to incorporate it into its devices. However, it is expected that the Company will start soon.

iPhone 15 Pro Max could rely on periscope technology

In July 2022 said Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said that the iPhone 15 Pro Max will have an exclusive periscope lens that will enable a 5x to 6x optical zoom. The periscope technology will be integrated into the telephoto lens and will allow up to 6x zoom without blurring or loss of quality. This technology will allow the iPhone 15 Pro Max to play in the same league as the Pixel 7 Pro and Galaxy S23 Ultra, which already offer 5x to 10x optical zoom. A 5x to 6x optical zoom is a notable improvement to the iPhone's camera. However, it is reported that the periscope lens will be exclusive to the high-end iPhone 15 Pro Max model.

The presentation is expected to take place in September

This means that the technology will only be available for the most expensive iPhone model for the next two and a half years. The iPhone 15 Pro Max is expected to be one of the most advanced smartphones on the market. The introduction of the periscope lens and 5x to 6x optical zoom will make it a strong contender in the smartphone industry. Although this technology may only be available on the most expensive model of the iPhone 15 Pro Max, it is hoped that it will soon be available in other Apple devices. We look forward to more details to be announced in September. (Photo by fifg / Bigstockphoto)
