Hong Kong, January 11, 2021: Unbox iPhone 12

There are now enough rumors about the iPhone 13 series. So far, there have been reports about new functions. Now there are indications about the battery capacities.

According to a new rumor posted on Weibo and shared by l0vetodream divided , the iPhone 13 lineup could offer significantly larger battery capacities. According to the rumor, the iPhone 13 Pro Max will come with a 4352mAh battery, compared to the 3687mAh battery of the current iPhone 12 Pro Max. The iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Pro will share a 3095mAh battery, compared to 2815mAh (iPhone 12 / 12 Pro). The smallest model in the line, the iPhone 13 mini, will come with a 2406mAh battery, compared to the 2227mAh battery of the iPhone 12 mini. But beware. With iPhone devices, the size of the battery only tells part of the story surrounding a device's battery life.

iPhone 13: ProMotion display requires larger battery

Efficiency also depends heavily on the processor, i.e. the A-series chips and other components. The A15 chip, which is expected in the 2021 iPhone, is said to be even more efficient and at the same time more powerful than its predecessor. If the rumor is to be believed, all four devices will get a better battery, including the mini model. The iPhone 12 mini, which is the smallest iPhone, has sold poorly compared to the other models. One reason for this could be the smaller battery in the device, which has been widely criticized. The larger batteries will also help to account for the rumor of a ProMotion 120Hz display in the iPhone 13 Pro and 13 Pro Max. Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has already stated that the ProMotion technology will be reserved for the Pro models only. Compared to the current peak of 60Hz, a 120Hz display will at least consume more battery. (Photo by leungchopan / Bigstockphoto)
