Chiang Rai, Thailand: September 12, 2019 - New Apple Pencil with Apple iPad Pro 11 inch 2018.

Many observers expected Apple to introduce a new iPad Pro in October. However, it is expected to be released in early 2020. Now new details about the camera have emerged.

In a new Bloomberg The report again addresses the topic of the iPad Pro. According to the news portal, it has learned that the iPad Pro will most likely be released in the first half of 2020. Apple's March event would be a hot candidate for this. The new iPad Pro is expected to move further into the world of augmented reality. According to the report, the professional tablet will have a dual camera that has been equipped with an additional hole. This is needed for the 3D system. Previous rumors suggested an iPad Pro with three lenses, similar to the iPhone 11 Pro. But according to Bloomberg, a dual camera would probably be sufficient for the new 3D system. This is based on the well-known Time-of-Flight technology. According to the sources, the new camera system is the centerpiece of Apple's augmented reality plans - the module is a further development of the Face ID sensor and will will also find space in the iPhone 2020 – including 5G connectivity – according to the news channel.

AR glasses and headset will follow later

Yesterday morning a report by The Information  published that Apple will not present new AR devices such as glasses and a headset until 2022 and 2023. Bloomberg claims to have learned some details about this as well. According to this, Apple could present a device in 2021 or 2022 that combines AR (augmented reality) and VR (virtual reality). The focus would be on gaming, video and virtual meetings - a headset? A slim AR glasses will follow around a year later - according to the sources, around 2023. The news channel also claims to have learned interesting details about the team working on this project.

"Apple has about 1,000 engineers working on the AR and VR initiative, led by Vice President Mike Rockwell. The multidisciplinary team is part of Apple's hardware engineering division, but has its own leadership with executives who have worked on Apple's gaming software system, previous iPhone hardware, software engineering and manufacturing. The team also includes former NASA engineers, former game developers and graphic artists. It is located in a nondescript area of Sunnyvale, California, not far from Apple's main campus in Cupertino."

According to the source, the original release date was 2019 or 2020, but the date was "recently" canceled and postponed. Today's report puts together previous rumors and leaks to paint a better picture of what to expect in the foreseeable future. (Photo by Poravute Siriphiroon / Bigstockphoto)
