Reports about an iPhone with a triple camera have undoubtedly dominated the rumor mill this year. But what can we expect from the fourth generation iPad Pro? Until now, observers have assumed that it will simply be a performance upgrade - but it is apparently not going to stop there.

According to a new report, the iPhone 11 is not the only Apple device with a triple camera. The Japanese Apple blog Macotakara claims to have learned that the iPad Pro 4 will also have such a camera system in a square design. The report cites a source from Chinese suppliers. According to this, it is possible that Apple will launch an iPad Pro with a triple camera this year. The rumor is completely new - so far there have been hardly any details about the upcoming iPad Pro series. This makes the latest statement from Japan all the more surprising. Although Macotakara has a solid hit rate, the information should still be viewed with skepticism. In general, this could still be possible. The iPad Pro underwent an extensive redesign last year - despite its enormous performance, the camera module cannot keep up with today's iPhones. Features such as portrait mode, for example, are missing. Upgrading the rear camera would significantly improve the augmented reality experience and open up new possibilities.

iPad 10.2-inch with better camera

If Apple does decide to go for the new triple module, it would be a remarkable jump from one to three lenses without a break like the iPhone. In the report, Macotakara did not fail to mention the upcoming seventh generation iPad. The blog believes that the camera will be upgraded here too - it would be possible to install a dual camera. It is generally expected that the 10.2-inch iPad will replace the 9.7-inch model from 2018. No further details about the device were given - there still seems to be little information that is actually usable. The upgrade to a triple camera is considered to be the biggest innovation in the iPhone 11. While the presentation of the new iPhone models is expected in September, new iPad models are expected in October - here you can find out more about the iPhone 11 market launch.
