iOS 18 iMessage

Alanya, Turkey - April 26, 2022: Man hand holding iPhone 13 with social networking service iMessage on the screen. iPhone 13 was created and developed by the Apple inc.

The latest version of Apple's operating system, iOS 18, brings a variety of exciting new features designed to further improve the user experience. A particular focus is on improvements to the Messages app, which now offers emoji reactions and the ability to send messages later, among other things, Bloomberg has learned. These changes are aimed at simplifying communication and giving users more flexibility and options for expression.

With iOS 18, Apple wants to once again focus on innovation and user-friendliness. The latest updates for the messaging app are the result of intensive user feedback and Apple's efforts to keep the iMessage platform competitive, as Bloomberg reported.

Emoji reactions in iMessage

One of the most requested features for iMessage was the ability to react to messages with a wider range of emojis. With iOS 18, this feature is finally becoming a reality. The new Emoji Tapbacks allow you to react to any message with an emoji of your choice, making communication more lively and personal. Benefits of the new Emoji Reactions:

  • Increased expressiveness: You can express your emotions and reactions more accurately.
  • Easy access: Emoji Tapbacks are in the same location as previous Tapback reactions, making them more intuitive to use.
  • Variety: Instead of being limited to six preset options, you now have the freedom to use any emoji you want.

Scheduled message sending

Another significant new feature in iOS 18 is the ability to schedule messages for a later time. This feature, which has been available on Android devices for some time, will now also be available in iMessage. Why scheduled message sending is important:

  • Time flexibility: You can compose messages and schedule them to be sent at an optimal time without having to manually remember to do so.
  • Communication across time zones: Ideal for not disturbing friends or colleagues in different time zones.
  • Increased productivity: Allows you to better organize and plan your communication.

Additional text effects

iOS 18 also expands the text effects in iMessage. In addition to the existing screen and speech bubble effects, you will have new ways to make your messages more visually appealing. This will help make your communication more creative and engaging.

support for RCS

Another important step is the support of RCS (Rich Communication Services) in iOS 18. This will improve the SMS experience especially for communication with Android users. Benefits of RCS:

  • Higher resolution attachments: Better quality photos and videos.
  • Real-time notifications: See when the other person types.
  • Improved group chats: more features and stability.

iOS 18: The Messages app gets even better

iOS 18 brings numerous improvements and new features that make your communication on the iPhone even better and more versatile. With the expanded emoji reactions, scheduled message sending and support for RCS, Apple shows that they listen to user feedback and are always striving to optimize the user experience.
