Apple will host the "California streaming" event on Tuesday evening and present new products. The new AirPods 3 are also expected.
Well-informed Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has released a report for investors outlining his expectations for the iPhone 13, Apple Watch Series 7 and AirPods 3. According to Kuo, the new AirPods 3 will be the new version of Apple's AirPods earphones, which were last updated in March 2019. However, Kuo believes that Apple will continue to sell the second generation alongside the AirPods 3.
AirPods 3: Longer battery life and better audio quality
This suggests that either the AirPods 3 will be sold at a higher price - the current generation starts at 179 euros - or that the AirPods 2 will be reduced in price parallel to the release of the AirPods 3. Kuo himself does not seem to know exactly which scenario Apple will choose. According to various rumors, the third generation AirPods will have a similar design to the current AirPods Pro. Despite the revised housing, however, functions such as active noise cancellation are not to be expected. The audio quality is said to be better compared to the second generation, however. Among other things, there is said to be "noticeably better bass". The battery life is also said to be longer.
