Apple secures exclusive rights to Billie Eilish documentary

The young artist Billie Eilish was awarded the Apple Music Award Now media reports say that Apple has secured the exclusive rights to a Billie Eilish documentary. 

Artist of the Year - Album of the Year - Songwriter of the Year. Billie Eilish secured these three categories on Apple Music in 2019 - yesterday evening Apple honored the young US singer with a concert at the Steve Jobs Theater. Now US media are reporting that Apple is continuing to hold on to the star. It is claimed that Apple has secured the exclusive rights to a Billie Eilish documentary. Cupertino is said to have paid around 25 million US dollars for it. A premiere is expected next year on Apple TV+.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the documentary has already been filmed and will cover the period following the release of Eilish's debut album, "When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go." The film or documentary will be available exclusively on Apple's streaming service and will feature Eilish in private moments with her family as well as behind-the-scenes footage of her at public appearances. The budget for this film adaptation is reported to have been as high as two million US dollars.

The already shot film was directed by RJ Cutler and produced in collaboration with Eilish's label, Interscope Records, with a budget of between one million and two million US dollars.
