That is why Cupertino has made chip manufacturer Intel the main supplier.
5G much later than expected?
According to a new report from the Reuters news agency, the iPhone will not be equipped with a 5G modem before 2020. Chip manufacturer Intel is said to have said exactly that at an internal meeting. According to this, the "Sunny Peak" 5G chips cannot be delivered this year as expected. This means that Apple would offer 5G much later than the competition. If this really happens, it would be a major setback for Cupertino. There has been speculation for months that Apple wants to become independent in this area too. However, this is not expected to happen before 2021. Apple may find a replacement - experts are guessing it will be the company MediaTek.
