WhatsApp Quick Reactions Stories

Alanya, Turkey - June 7, 2021: Woman hand holding iPhone 12 Pro Max Gold with social networking service messenger WhatsApp on the screen.

While WhatsApp is preparing the new Reactions feature for its users in a future update, the app is also working on the possibility of bringing an Instagram Stories-like feature to the Status tab.

As WABetainfo has found out, the “Quick Reactions” feature will be available in a future update for WhatsApp Status. The publication explained:

Quick Reactions is a way to quickly send an emoji when viewing a status update on WhatsApp, the same feature we use on Instagram when reacting to a story!

React to WhatsApp Stories with Quick Reactions

According to the blog, WhatsApp plans to add eight different emojis as reactions for now: smiling face with heart eyes, face with tears of joy, face with open mouth, crying face, folded hands, clapping hands, party popper and hundred dots. WABetaInfo explains that "after reacting to a status update, the reaction in the chat is sent as a simple emoji message," although WhatsApp could prepare a proper user interface if you get a quick reaction to the status post. When the whole thing will finally appear for all users remains to be seen. (Photo by DenPhoto / Bigstockphoto)
