WhatsApp has released a new update with version number 2.19.110. The update fixes a minor bug - but one feature is missing.
Let's get straight to the flaw. Even though a chat is muted, the badge counter on the app icon is still activated. Anyone who is in many groups and uses the "mute" feature will know what I mean by that. Many groups mean many messages – the badge counter quickly displays unrealistic numbers. That's annoying, isn't it? WhatsApp has fixed the problem with update 2.19.110. According to the update, only the actual number of messages that are pushed will be displayed in the badge counter. Muted chats will therefore remain completely silent from now on.
Option in privacy settings missing
The change is small but nice. But now let's get to a missing feature. We recently reported on a change in the privacy settings reported. Users can now decide for themselves who can add them to groups. It was expected that WhatsApp would integrate the function in the next update, but no such luck. Version 2.19.110 does not include the option. There is also still no trace of dark mode, neither in the final nor in the beta version for iOS. Below you will find the list of all changes verbatim. WhatsApp version 2.19.110:
- When chats are muted, notifications with the badge counter on the app icon will not appear when you receive new messages.
- Position stickers, emojis, and more while editing media using new alignment guidelines.
