At this year's Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC), Apple unveiled visionOS 2, the first major update to the Apple Vision Pro since its launch last year. This update brings a host of exciting new features and improvements that will revolutionize your user experience. From keyboard overlays to home view upgrades, visionOS 2 offers numerous features aimed at making your interaction with the virtual environment even more intuitive and seamless.

With visionOS 2, Apple is setting new standards in the world of virtual reality. The introduction of new features such as the keyboard overlay shows Apple's commitment to continuously improving the user-friendliness and functionality of its products.

keyboard overlay

One of the most notable new features in visionOS 2 is the introduction of keyboard overlay. This feature detects your Magic Keyboard or your MacBook's keyboard and overlays it in the virtual environment. This used to be a major shortcoming because you couldn't see the keyboard when immersed in a virtual environment. With visionOS 2, you can now type on the beach, in the mountains, or even on the moon without compromising your productivity.

support for mice

In addition to the keyboard overlay, visionOS 2 now also supports mice, including Apple's own Magic Mouse and third-party mice. This enables more precise navigation and interaction in the virtual environment, which should be of great benefit especially for professional users.

Improved home view

Another significant improvement is the ability to rearrange your Vision Pro's home view. By pressing and holding, you can now individually place your favorite apps and folders, thus shaping your work environment according to your personal preferences. In addition, iPad apps can be moved from the "Compatible Apps" folder and placed anywhere in the home view, giving you even more flexibility and control over your virtual environment.

Improvements in video streaming

Apple has also optimized the video streaming experience in Safari. With visionOS 2, you can enjoy videos on a giant virtual screen while in any environment. This feature gives you a stunning cinematic experience, complete with a new, beautiful glow and realistic reflection on the screen. Whether you're in a virtual forest clearing or in a futuristic space station, the video experience will be more immersive and impressive.

beta version and release

The first beta version of visionOS 2 is already available for developers participating in the beta testing program. The official update will be released to all users in the fall, so you don't have to wait long to try out the new features for yourself.

More comfort and control with the new features of visionOS 2

visionOS 2 brings a wealth of new features and improvements that significantly improve the user experience on the Apple Vision Pro. From the practical keyboard overlay and mouse support to the new options for customizing the home view and improved video streaming, this update offers numerous features aimed at making your interaction with the virtual world even more intuitive and immersive. Get ready for an exciting update in the fall and experience how visionOS 2 revolutionizes your digital reality. Are you looking for new accessories?
