The popular Apple TV+ series “The Morning Show” has been nominated for three Screen Actors Guild Awards (SAG).
The Screen Actors Guild Award is a film and television award given annually by the American actors' union (SAG). Membership in the SAG is required in order to work as an actor in the USA. Along with the Golden Globe, the Screen Actors Guild Award is seen as a benchmark for the Oscars that follow. It has now been announced that three of the actors from "The Morning Show" have been nominated for this award. Jennifer Aniston, Steve Carell and Billy Crudup - who play Alex Levy, Mitch Kessler and Corey Ellison - are said to have been nominated. The SAG nomination is for the category "Best Actor/Actress in a Television Series - Drama".
Not the first nominations
The TV+ series produced by Apple received three Golden Globe Award nominations just a few days ago. This means that Apple could cause far more of a stir next year than was initially imagined. It remains to be seen whether "The Morning Show" will actually win any awards. However, the chances are not bad. Apple's path to Hollywood seems to be certain anyway. The SAG Awards will take place on January 19, 2020, while the Golden Globes will be presented on January 5, 2020. (Image: Apple TV+)
