The time has come – the launch of Apple TV+ has been announced. Today is Apple's official entry into the streaming industry.

Apple released Apple TV+ this evening in over 100 countries. The new streaming service can now be subscribed to. The subscription costs 4.99 euros per month and includes family sharing - a free trial week is included. Buyers of a new Apple device - iPhone, iPad, Apple TV or Mac - receive access to Apple TV+ for free for a year - please note the information on the respective product page. Apple's path to Hollywood has begun. But what can we expect now? Apple's own productions will be offered first and foremost - third-party content could follow at a later date. Apple's originals are produced by Hollywood greats such as Stephen Spielberg and Ron Howard. According to Apple, the library will be expanded monthly.

Apple TV+ Press

The roles are given to stars like Jennifer Aniston. On the in-house press page “Apple TV+ Press“ the content is presented. There are currently 15 titles on this list - but not all of them are available. Each individual title contains a description and links to trailers or videos or photos related to the project. A cast list with further details about the individual characters is also listed. Producers, directors and authors are of course also listed. In addition to films, there are also series and documentaries.

There is no online requirement. Apple TV+ subscribers can download a certain number of titles to their device and watch them offline - similar to other streaming providers. Apple TV+ is not only available to Apple users. The streaming service requires the Apple TV application. This means that users of selected smart TVs can also access the new service.

How to subscribe to Apple TV+

To use Apple TV+, you must first subscribe to the service. Please make sure that you are logged in with your Apple ID and that the devices have at least iOS 13, iPadOS 13, tvOS 13 or macOS 10.15 Catalina. Now open the TV app on your iPhone, iPad, Mac or Apple TV or a compatible Smart TV. The new offer should appear directly on the home page - in some cases the user has to scroll down. Here you can now subscribe to the service. If you have bought a new iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Mac or Apple TV, you will receive free access to Apple TV+ for one year. A button should then appear with the label "Try for 1 year free" - please confirm and now you can start streaming. (Image: Apple)
