Microsoft is constantly developing its messaging service Skype – new features have now been announced through the current beta.
Microsoft offers the Skype Insider beta program. Here, users can test new functions in advance and help with development. The next big feature will be screen sharing on mobile devices - the function is already known from the desktop version. This means that Skype users will be able to share their iOS/Android screen with other conversation partners in the future.
Because push notifications are also displayed during such a transmission, users are advised to activate "Do Not Disturb" when using this function. Microsoft has not answered when the feature will be available in the final version for all users. The upcoming update is expected to be released in the next few months.
Launched in 2003, Skype is a free instant messaging service. In 2011, Skype was acquired by Microsoft. The service supports video conferencing, IP telephony, instant messaging, file transfer, and screen sharing.
