Apple has now officially opened its books and announced its results for the fourth fiscal quarter of 2022 (third calendar quarter of 2022).

Apple now has the books open and released the results for the fourth fiscal quarter of 2022 (third calendar quarter of 2022). Side note: Apple's fiscal year starts on October 1st and ends on September 30th. Apple did not announce a sales forecast at the last quarterly earnings conference either, as the company was unable to provide a realistic estimate due to the ongoing crisis. With an EPS (earnings per share) of $1.29, Cupertino exceeded analysts' forecasts, which were forecasting an average of $1.27. The company posted record sales of $90.1 billion in the September quarter - profits are $20.7 billion. Apple boss Tim Cook made the following statement:

Q4/2022: Apple impresses throughout

This quarter's results reflect Apple's commitment to our customers, our pursuit of innovation, and our drive to leave the world better than we found it. As we prepare for the holiday season with our strongest product lineup ever, our values guide every action and decision we make. We are committed to protecting the environment, protecting privacy, improving accessibility, and developing products and services that can unleash the full creative potential of humanity.

Apple’s CFO, Luca Maestri, said:

Our record results for the September quarter demonstrate our ability to effectively execute on our objectives despite a challenging and volatile macroeconomic environment. We continued to invest in our long-term growth plans, generated more than $24 billion in operating cash flow and returned more than $29 billion to our shareholders during the quarter. The strength of our ecosystem, unmatched customer loyalty and record sales drove our active installed base of devices to a new all-time high. This quarter capped another record year for Apple, with revenue growth of more than $28 billion and operating cash flow of $18 billion year-over-year.

Apple's board of directors has approved a cash dividend of $0.23 per share of the company's common stock. The dividend is payable on November 10, 2022, to shareholders of record at the close of business on November 7, 2022. The stock is down 1.83 percent at $142.15 despite the record in after-hours trading on the NASDAQ. (Photo by ismagilov / Bigstockphoto)

Apple devices here are not test units on loan for two weeks but everyday tools: from the iPhone through MacBook Pro, MacBook Air, and iMac to the Apple Vision Pro, at least one device from nearly every product category is in daily use, many of them replaced annually. Every menu path in a guide is verified on the device before it is published.
