At the beginning of April, Apple announced the new Powerbeats Pro – the new wireless headphones were previously discovered in an iOS 12.2 beta. Now there is a launch date.

The new Powerbeats Pro are the successors to the Powerbeats 3 generation. The biggest difference to their predecessors: they are no longer wired. Like the AirPods, they are stored in a charging case. According to the description, the Powerbeats Pro should last a full nine hours.

With acceleration sensors

The new headphones from Beats will cost 249.95 euros and will be available from May 10th - interested parties can place their pre-order from May 3rd. The headphones will initially only be available in black. The colors ivory, moss green and navy blue will follow in the summer. According to Apple, the Powerbeats Pro deliver "powerful, balanced sound with dynamic range and noise isolation for a first-class listening experience."

The Powerbeats Pro are sweat and water resistant and include the Powerbeats ear hooks in four sizes. There are physical controls on each earpiece - these buttons are used to adjust the volume and answer phone calls. They also have accelerometers like the AirPods - so the Powerbeats Pro can detect whether the user has the earpiece in their ear or not - the music is played or paused accordingly. The "Hey Siri" function is also on board. At launch, the wireless headphones will be available in over 20 countries. Market launch in: Germany, USA, Canada, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Macau, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Austria, Finland, France, Greece, Hong Kong, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Portugal, Puerto Rico, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Australia, Belgium, Denmark and Great Britain.
