Test now: Public betas of tvOS 17 and watchOS 10

Apple's latest releases include the first public betas of tvOS 17 and watchOS 10. These operating systems bring exciting features that improve the user experience in various applications. Through the Apple Beta Software Program, users can download the new betas and explore the latest improvements.

Apple also has iOS 17, iPadOS 17 and macOS Sonoma publishedThe company is now expanding the test program to include tvOS 17 and watchOS 10 to give users the opportunity to test these operating systems to test. The public betas provide a glimpse of the new features and improvements that will be included in upcoming updates.

tvOS 17

There are some exciting new features with tvOS 17. The Continuity Camera feature allows Apple TV owners to control their set-top box using the iPhone camera and use the FaceTime app on the TV. Additionally, third-party video conferencing apps, such as Webex and Zoom, are being introduced to give Apple TV 4K users direct access to these communication features. Control Center is being improved in tvOS 17 and offers quick profile switching, allowing users to wake the Apple TV using the Remote app on the iPhone and automatically switch to the respective profile.

Custom profile settings are now saved individually for each user. Apple TV users can also benefit from additional features such as improved dialogue in movies and TV shows, Dolby Vision 8.1 support for an improved visual experience, enhancements to Apple Fitness+ for personalized workout plans and meditations, the ability to use third-party VPN apps, and more. Supported models for tvOS 17 include Apple TV HD (2015) and all three generations of Apple TV 4K.

watchOS 10

watchOS 10 brings exciting features to Apple Watch. New watch faces like Snoopy and Woodstock react to weather conditions and even move with you as you exercise. The Palette feature allows you to see time as a spectrum of colors that dynamically change throughout the day. For cyclists, watchOS 10 offers seamless connections with Bluetooth-enabled accessories and automatically integrates cadence, speed, and power data into your workout view. Apple Watch estimates your functional threshold power and displays the corresponding power zone to improve your overall performance. Cycling workouts are also automatically displayed as live activities on your iPhone. For hikers, watchOS 10 offers the Compass app with a three-dimensional perspective of your locations and trail information for nearby hiking trails across the United States. Topographic maps let you explore mountains, valleys, lakes, and rivers.

Apple Fitness+

watchOS 10 also offers mental health features, such as mood tracking and insights into connections between your mental state and lifestyle factors like daylight, sleep duration, and exercise. Apple Watch can also reduce the risk of nearsightedness by measuring daylight duration. Apple Fitness+ enhancements include custom training plans, stacking workouts and meditations, and the ability to customize Audio Focus settings. All Apple Watch models that support watchOS 9 are compatible with watchOS 10.
