Once again, iOS beta users are faced with an annoying message about a nonexistent iOS 14.2 update.
This time, users who have installed an iOS 14.2 or iPadOS 14.2 beta on their iPhone or iPad are being asked to update to the latest beta version with incorrect messages, although no updates are available. The popup mentions that there is a new iOS 14 beta version - which is not the case. The bug is not new, however, as something very similar happened during the iOS 12 beta phase in 2018. The current notification states:
A new iOS update is now available. Please update from iOS 14 beta.

Several users have complained about this message on social media in recent days. But now the message appears every time the device is unlocked, driving some people crazy. The reason for this message is still "unknown." In 2018, the false message was caused by a bug in the system that calculates when an iOS build expires. Therefore, it can be assumed that iOS 14.2 is experiencing the same problem. AirPods Pro on special offer at Amazon – available now. (Photo by ADCstock / Bigstockphoto)
