New code suggests Apple will soon re-release its HomeKit architecture after the option was withdrawn in December.
In December, Apple withdrew the option to update HomeKit to the new architecture after reports that the update was not working properly for users. The new code, which was published by Twitter users nicolas09F9 and aaronp613 discovered refers to the second iteration of Apple's new HomeKit architecture. The code suggests that Apple is preparing for a possible re-release of the feature.

The iOS 16.3 beta also included a message referring to a "Home Upgrade Available," a "new architecture that improves the performance of your home." This is the same message that appeared in iOS 16.2 before it was removed. On the last attempt, users reported that their devices were stuck in "update mode" after the upgrade was complete, with some devices becoming unresponsive or unable to complete the update. At the time, it was unclear what caused the issues, as there were no commonalities between the reports. (Photo by hadrian / Bigstockphoto)
