As expected, Apple introduced a new credit card this evening – it is called Apple Card.
Apple announced a partnership with Goldman Sachs at the "It's Show Time" event. The Apple Card credit card will be integrated directly into the Wallet app. The first hints were already found in the iOS 12.2 beta. The Wall Street Journal also reported on this.
bonus system and no fees
Like many other credit card providers, Apple Card will also have a bonus system. Users of this card will receive a two percent discount on every payment. Purchases from Apple itself will be rewarded with a three percent discount. The bonus is called Apple Cash and will be paid out to users every day. Anyone who chooses Apple's credit card can register directly via the Wallet app. There will be no monthly or annual fee.
Privacy is very important
Apple promises not to have any insight into users' purchases. In addition, the credit card number itself is not transmitted - when a purchase is started, a unique code is transmitted. This is generated anew with each purchase.
availability
A physical card made of titanium is also expected to be available in the summer. This will not contain any of the traditional information like other cards. Apple wants to use this card to ensure the confidentiality of customer data. Apple Card will initially only be available in the USA. It is not yet known when it will be introduced here - it is safe to assume that it will take a very long time.
