Apple supplier Foxconn, which serves as the main producer of the iPhone, is now taking steps to expand its workforce by offering increased bonuses to new employees in Zhengzhou, China, ahead of the start of production of the iPhone 13.
According to the South China Morning Post The latest bonus increase is the third case this year in which the supplier has tried to recruit new employees. In a company-wide announcement on Thursday, Foxconn said new employees will receive a bonus of $1,158 if they work for 90 days and have at least 55 days of service.
Each new employee will receive a bonus of 7,500 yuan ($1,158) if they work for 90 days and have at least 55 days of service, according to the latest announcement released by iDPBG on Thursday. This amount is higher than the 6,500 yuan offered on April 26 and the 6,000 yuan on April 15. It is also more than double the 3,500 yuan bonus offered in late March.
iPhone 13 to be released in September
Foxconn declined to comment on the reasons for the new bonuses, saying that "due to company policy and commercial sensitivity," it does not comment on operations or customer work. However, the new bonuses can be seen as a sign that the supplier is beginning to prepare for the iPhone 13, which is scheduled to launch in the second half of this year. Unlike the iPhone 12 lineup, which was postponed due to the global health crisis, the iPhone 13 is scheduled to be released in the normal September timeframe. The iPhone 13 lineup, consisting of four models, is expected to include sizes that match the current iPhone offerings. Rumors suggest that the new devices will feature improved cameras, a faster processor, and a number of small but significant design changes. (Photo by ADCstock / Bigstockphoto)
