As expected, Apple has released iOS 13.5, iPadOS 13.5 and tvOS 13.4.5 for all users.

Apple released the Golden Master versions of iOS 13.5, iPadOS 13.5 and tvOS 13.4.5 as well as the final version of watchOS 6.2.5 the evening before yesterday. The new updates have now been rolled out to all users. Accordingly, everyone can now download iOS 13.5, iPadOS 13.5 and tvOS 13.5 over-the-air. iOS 13.5 contains Apples new interface called “COVID-19 Exposure Notifications”. This will be used to use the Corona warning app which is due to be released next month and can be downloaded voluntarily. I have already summarized all the new features in iOS 13.5 and iPadOS 13.5 the day before yesterday – for reportBelow you will find the complete update description including all bug fixes in full. It also makes the Exposure Notification API available for COVID-19 contact tracing apps from public health authorities. The update also adds an option to control the automatic highlighting of video tiles in group FaceTime calls, as well as bug fixes and improvements.

  • Simplified unlocking of devices with Face ID when wearing a face mask
  • Automatically display the code field after swiping up at the bottom of the lock screen when wearing a face mask
  • Also enables authentication for the App Store, Apple Books, Apple Pay, iTunes, and other apps that support Face ID login

contact messages

  • Exposure Notification API to support health authorities' COVID-19 contact tracing apps

FaceTime

  • Option to control automatic highlighting of video tiles in FaceTime group calls, which does not change the size of the speaking participant's video tile

This update also includes bug fixes and other improvements.
