Apple has now officially released the fourth preview of iOS 16 and Co. Changes have been made to iMessage. iOS 16 introduces the ability to edit iMessages and cancel sending for the first time - but with certain restrictions. iOS 16 Beta 4 tightens these restrictions even further.
These changes are likely a response to concerns about the ability to edit and un-edit messages. Apple has not commented directly on the issue, but these changes clearly address those concerns. In iOS 16 Beta 4, you can only edit a message five times. Additionally, each edit is logged and visible to both the sender and recipient of the iMessage.
iOS 16 Beta 4 makes far-reaching changes to iMessage
This means the person you're messaging will be able to see all the changes you've made. Once you reach the limit of five edits, the "Edit" option will disappear from the long-press menu. iOS 16 Beta 4 also reduces the time you have to send an iMessage. In previous versions of iOS 16, you had 15 minutes to undo or delete a message. today's Update, this time period has been reduced to two minutes. However, you still have 15 minutes to process a message. Whether your device is compatible with the new software, you can find out here. (Photo by DenPhoto / Bigstockphoto)
