PALMA DE MALLORCA, SPAIN - MAY 10, 2018: Details of Apps and icons on the the Apple CarPlay main screen in modern car dashboard while driving

There are currently increasing reports about a problem between wireless CarPlay and the iPhone 11. Users are complaining about connectivity problems.

Since the end of September, Apple’s forum Reports about problems with CarPlay have been documented. To be precise, this concerns the current iPhone generation. It seems to have a problem with the wireless CarPlay function. This is what the comments say:

I just upgraded from an iPhone X to iPhone 11 Pro. iOS 13.0 and now my carplay sounds like an old vinyl record with a scratch. Music playback on iPhone randomly skips 5-15 seconds and then skips again. I reset the phone, I wiped the phone and put only one album on it - no luck. I updated it to 13.1 and no change, it still skips. My old iPhone X with 13.1 works perfectly. It's so bad that I now listen to XM and can no longer listen to music with my carplay. My vehicle is a 2019 Mini Cooper JCW, I had the dealership reset the headunit, any other ideas would be wonderful.

Hi, I own a 2019 Mini Cooper S (convertible) and I have the same problem. I had an iPhone XS with iOS13 and it worked perfectly! But when I switched to the iPhone 11, things changed... it's not just the jumps, the CarPlay drops the connection and sometimes even freezes the screen... Hopefully someone has a solution soon!

Is the U1 chip in the iPhone to blame?

I'm having the same issues with an 11 Pro Max. I have a 2018 Nissan Maxima. With CarPlay it will play fine for a little bit and then start jumping and popping. It seems to work fine using just the USB audio.

The thread now covers a full 14 pages. Different vehicle brands are listed - but they all have one thing in common: the iPhone 11 or iPhone 11 Pro. As the thread progressed, a user U1 chip the current iPhone generation is suspected - but this is not to blame for the problem either. This was confirmed by another user who uses the current iOS 13.3.1 beta. According to isolated statements, Apple Support has already acknowledged the problem - but an official statement from the company is still pending. Those affected must therefore continue to exercise patience. As soon as there is anything new in this regard, we will of course report on it as usual. Order the Base Station Stand Edition from Nomad now - wireless charging has never been so convenient. (Photo by hadrian / Bigstockphoto)
