Accessory maker Nomad has updated the popular Base Station Hub with a new magnetic alignment designed to help iPhones with MagSafe better align with the Qi coils.
To charge devices as efficiently as possible, Nomad has updated one of its most popular products – the Base Station Hub. The new charging station can charge four devices simultaneously. It features three Qi charging coils with up to 10W of wireless power – 7.5W for the iPhone – and two USB ports. There's a USB-A port with a power output of 7.5W and a second USB-C port with 18W. Nomad advertises the product as follows:
With magnets that align with your device's MagSafe magnets, you'll get the perfect alignment every time. This makes it easy to find the charging station whether you're reading an email or getting back to sleep. Just feel the magnetic snap into place and keep doing what you're doing.
Base Station Hub Edition with MagSafe is also compatible with Apple Watch
Many of the other details have remained the same. The price of $119.99 also remains the same. There is a padded leather charging surface on the top, the status LEDs are automatically dimmed thanks to the built-in ambient light sensor and the casing is made of metal.
For Apple Watch users, Nomad includes an adapter for the Apple Watch charging puck, currently priced at $5. The adapter inserts the existing charging puck and attaches the clip to the back of the charging pad, allowing the Apple Watch to be charged horizontally.
