A new document filed with the SEC (United States Securities and Exchange Commission) reveals that Apple will hold its annual general meeting virtually on March 4.

The annual meeting of shareholders is scheduled to take place on Friday, March 4. Although the event is usually held at the Steve Jobs Theater, it will also be held virtually in 2022 to “provide a safe experience for our shareholders and employees.” According to a shareholder notice and proxy statement filed with the SEC, submitted , the record date for the Annual Meeting is January 3, 2022. This means that shareholders must own Apple shares before that date to attend. Like most of Apple's annual meetings, this year's meeting will focus on routine business such as electing directors, confirming the appointment of independent accounting firms, and approving Apple's 2022 Employee Stock Purchase Plan.

This is how much Tim Cook earned in 2021

Candidates for Apple's 2022 board include James Bell, Tim Cook, Al Gore, Alex Gorky, Andrew Jung, Art Levinson, Monica Lozano, Ron Sugar and Sue Wagner. The meeting will also vote on proposals submitted by shareholders themselves. Apple advises shareholders to cast their votes in advance to "ensure that their voice will be represented at the annual meeting." The motion also includes details on Apple CEO Tim Cook's compensation. He earned a base salary of $3 million in 2021 and received over $82 million worth of stock that vests over time. Five million shares owned by Cook vested in 2021 and are worth about $750 million. Cook's personal wealth is currently more than $1 billion. (Photo by Unsplash / Carles Rabada)
