The first Apple Silicon Mac devices are currently being delivered or can be picked up at Apple's store. Adobe has now made the first beta version of Photoshop available for these new Silicon Macs.

Before software can run natively on an Apple Silicon Mac, it must be adapted - and this is also the case with Adobe. The company has now announced that it wants to provide the first beta version of Photoshop. This requires an Apple Silicon Mac and Creative Cloud Desktop version 5.3.1.470 or higher. In the notice is it [called:

We're excited to announce the first beta version of Photoshop that runs natively on Apple Silicon hardware!

This early version of Photoshop for Apple Silicon offers many of the core Photoshop features you've come to rely on for your everyday editing needs, and we'll be adding more features in the coming weeks. Note that the beta software isn't officially supported by Adobe yet, but we want to hear from you and this is the place to let us know how it's going.

Adobe Photoshop: Not everyone should ignore their Intel Mac

Adobe points out that there are a number of limitations in the beta version. The company reports that "many functions" are not available and some features may run slowly. Interestingly, running Adobe Photoshop under Rosetta emulation is also not officially supported by Adobe. However, no reason for this was given. So anyone who needs Photoshop for work should continue to rely on their Intel Mac for the time being.
