Apple announced today that the App Store now offers search suggestions, a new feature designed to make it easier to find new apps or games.
The iOS App Store now has almost two million apps. Apple has now added a new feature announcedto make search results more contextual. Users will see search suggestions when they enter a new search term. For example, if users type "game," they'll see specific categories they can add, such as "puzzle," "multiplayer," "kids," "offline," and other options.
App Store search results: Search suggestions initially launch in four countries
When users tap a category, such as "Puzzle," they can drill down further with options like "Riddle" or "Word," allowing specific types of content to appear even if the searcher isn't sure what they're looking for. Search suggestions were previously available to some users as part of a test. But now the feature is set to expand. According to Apple, it's now available to users in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, and Australia. When other markets will be included remains to be seen.
