The petition helped
With HomeKit support, the devices can even be controlled via the Home app or optionally via Siri. In addition to AirPlay 2 and HomeKit, selected 2018 models will have access to Apple TV application However, it's unclear which models this specifically applies to. The company originally announced the features only for devices from 2019 onwards, as this was the only way to guarantee a "seamless user experience." However, this led to frustration among many users, which is why a petition was started, which appears to have helped. (Image: LG)
