Apple TV+ is only a few days old and one thing is already clear – the streaming quality is significantly better than that of other services.
Apple TV+ is currently facing some criticism due to its small media library - but many fans are already convinced by Apple's new service, which is why a little waiting time should hardly bother anyone, because Apple promises significantly more content. But there is one point that even critics cannot ignore - the streaming quality. Apple TV+ already offers the best streaming quality thanks to the high bitrate. The videos are simply outstanding - when it comes to 4K HDR and Dolby Atmos sound, nobody can beat Apple. Cupertino is really flexing its muscles here.
Rasmus Larsen, editor-in-chief of FlatpanelsHD, wrote an article on this topic with concrete figures. Apple TV+ is said to offer the highest streaming quality in the 4K range. The drama series "See" achieved a peak of 41 Mbps with an average bitrate of 29 Mbps on the Apple TV 4K. Blu-rays typically offer the best quality and lowest compression, but Apple TV+ is a streaming service—which makes these figures all the more impressive.
