Apple launched a new beta series this evening. Among other things, the new feature “Announce messages with Siri” was discovered.

The new feature “Announce Messages with Siri” was originally supposed to appear with iOS 13, but Apple had to leave the feature out for the time being. Now it’s here. To use the feature, the user must have an iPhone and AirPods. If the AirPods are worn, incoming messages can be Siri can be listened to and answered directly, without the command "Hey Siri" - very practical. When a new message arrives, an alarm is played that is similar to the normal message tone. Siri will then read out the content on its own - "Friend X says..."!

How to enable Announce Messages with Siri

The new "Announce messages with Siri" feature is deactivated by default. If you want to use this practical function, you can of course activate it - and this is how you do it. Open the iOS settings and navigate to "Siri & Search". Now you can activate "Announce messages with Siri". This can also be further optimized.

Siri usually requires confirmation from the user before sending a message – but this can be disabled. The “Messages with Siri Announce" is compatible with both Apple's own messaging app and third-party applications. The feature cannot be used with every Bluetooth headset - the AirPods and some Beats models are of course compatible. (Photo by Maridav / Bigstockphoto)
