Apple Arcade is constantly expanding its offerings, regularly bringing new titles and exclusive expansions to the platform. Following the recently released NFL Retro Bowl '26, the next highlight for sports fans will follow in October: NBA 2K26 Arcade Edition. The latest installment in the globally successful basketball series will be released exclusively on Apple Arcade on October 16, 2025, and will bring numerous new features, improved graphics, and exciting game modes.
Since its launch, Apple Arcade has had a clear goal: to make high-quality games accessible on all Apple devices, free of ads and in-app purchases. With over 200 titles in its catalog, the service offers a wide selection—from family-friendly classics to sports simulations. NBA 2K26 Arcade Edition expands the platform with a title that appeals to both die-hard NBA fans and casual gamers.

NBA 2K26 Arcade Edition with new features
The new NBA Eras feature takes center stage in NBA 2K26 Arcade Edition. This mode allows players to relive legendary basketball eras, starting with the iconic Larry Bird vs. Magic Johnson duel. This allows players to relive entire seasons and tournaments from historical eras. Highlight clips featuring superstars can be created directly in-game. Another focus is the popular The Association mode. Here, players can create their own teams to compete in classic and new scenarios. The rosters have been updated to reflect recent transfers, ensuring authentic lineups.

Improvements in MyCAREER mode
MyCAREER mode has also been redesigned. With new templates for your MyPLAYER—inspired by basketball greats like Vince Carter, Allen Iverson, and this year's cover star Shai Gilgeous-Alexander—the Arcade Edition offers even more customization options. Also new is the option to play multiplayer matches in MyCAREER mode, making competition against friends or family even more exciting.

More games and updates on Apple Arcade
In addition to NBA 2K26 Arcade Edition, Apple Arcade will be expanding its offerings with additional content in fall 2025. The action game TMNT Splintered Fate will receive a major update on September 30th. Metalhead, a new playable character, will be introduced, who, together with the Turtles, must protect New York City from chaos and destruction. This update is available to all subscribers at no additional cost. On October 2nd, three well-known titles from the App Store will also be coming to Apple Arcade in an ad-free and content-complete Plus version:
- Thomas & Friends: Let's Roll+ from StoryToys
- Dominoes: Classic Tile Game+ from MobilityWare
- Piffle+ by Mighty Games and Hipster Whale
This expands the catalog with three very different but popular games.
